Falta poco menos de un mes para la fiesta de 5 años de Cristina, y estoy orgullosa porque este año sí me organicé para festejarla como todos los años… menos el pasado. Así es que hoy te cuento lo que he hecho para poder lograr con tiempo hacer realidad esta celebración.
Cuando cumplió 4 años yo estaba con Guillermo de meses y con un trabajo nuevo, así es que los días fueron pasando y yo no logré organizarme con tiempo para festejarla.

In less than one month we will be celebrating Cristina’s birthday party, and I have to say that I’m proud because this year I got organized to celebrate like every year… but the past one. So, I share with you what I’ve been doing to make this celebration happen.
When she turned 4, Guillermo was just few months old and I had a new full-time job, so days went by and I just couldn’t get everything together to organize a party.
Con la experiencia de años pasados, he aprendido que una fiesta se tiene que organizar con tiempo, así es que para poder llegar al 17 de septiembre con todo listo empecé prácticamente en junio con la sesión de fotos para la invitación que Cristina y yo diseñamos juntas y el dibujo que será el tema de la fiesta.

With past years’ experience, I have learned that I have to organize with time, so in order to make it to September 17th with everything ready I started practically in June with the photo session for Cristina’s invitation, which we designed together, as well as the illustration that will be the party’s theme.
También armamos juntas un tablero de Pinterest (que puedes ver al final del post) para irnos dando ideas de qué es lo que queremos.
Ahora que Cristina cumple 5 años está en su etapa pink y todo lo quiere color de rosa, es también la primera vez que tiene una voz activa al momento de tomar decisiones para la fiesta, pues está muy consciente de lo que está pasando y que ella será la festejada.

We also opened our first Pinterest board (which you can see at the end of the post) so we can get some party inspiration.
Now that Cristina is turning 5 and is in her pink period, is also the first time that she has an active voice in what she wants and what she doesn’t. Now she knows what is happening and that she is going to be the birthday girl.
Ya que elegimos la foto que más nos gustó, nos dispusimos a diseñar la tarjeta, como en años anteriores, en Tiny Prints, el servicio que más me gusta para invitaciones de cumpleaños. Si bien, enviar una tarjeta de papel es mucho más caro que simplemente mandar una electrónica, es una tradición que a mí me gusta conservar pues es una manera de hacerles llegar un lindo retrato a las abuelas y yo también conservar los de sus fiestas pasadas.

Once we chose the picture we liked the best, we designed the invitation like in past years, in Tiny Prints, the service that I like the best for birthday invitations. And well, even though having a paper invitation is more expensive than just sending the electronic one, it is a good way to give grandmas and aunties a picture of her and for us to have the keepsake of this celebration.
Me gusta hacer sus fiestas de cumpleaños al aire libre y junto al mar, ya que en Miami septiembre es aún muy caluroso, y el hacerlo en la playa es mucho más llevadero ya que la gente puede meterse al agua y la brisa sopla mucho más que en otros lados.

I like to organize her parties in exteriors and next to the beach, since in Miami September is still very hot, and making it on the beach is a lot more easy to handle, since people can bath and breeze helps to freshen up the afternoon.

The invitation arrived just this week, so I’m starting to send it via mail or give it to Cristina’s friends with time, so they can organize and keep the date on mind.
Los platos, charolas, vasos, servilletas están también aquí, así es que ya sólo nos falta terminar de decidir el menú. Cristina está súper emocionada, y sí, ¡yo también!

The paper plates, trays, cups and napkins are also here, so we just have to decide the final menu. Cristina is very excited, and yes, me as well!
¡Ya seguiré compartiendo nuestro proceso de organización, pues ésta es una actividad que yo recuerdo con mucho cariño que hacía con mi mamá y que ahora hago con mi propia hija! Son de esos recuerdos que, al menos para mí, jamás se olvidan.

Qué belleza de post Ana Cristina. Me trajo muchos recuerdos de cuando mi mamá y mis hermanas planeaban mis piñatas en Caracas. Siempre había mucha planificación con tiempo y lo disfrutábamos muchísimo. Bellísimo como trabajaste con Cristina y la tarjeta les quedó estelar.
